Until
now there have been only two choices available to corporate
IT departments when deciding how to resource large software
developments:

Maintain
all software development using internal resources, supplemented
with additional resources from expensive short term IT contractors,

Outsource
the entire project to a third party software company |

Now, through
FAST ComDeV, the opportunity exists to outsource discreet
components of development projects to specialist development
teams. The service, which can be delivered either on the customer's
premises, or at FAST, allows the customer to limit FAST’s
involvement to, and controls the specifications of, specific
components.
Using
rapid development techniques, the FAST team uses specifications
produced by the customer to provide a fully tested and documented
component. FAST can be engaged to develop components that
require specialist technical knowledge not readily available
within a standard corporate IT department.
