TELentice
elevates Inlink media delivery
2
December 2002
Fujitsu Australia Software Technology’s flagship
product, TELentice™ Enterprise, has been chosen
by Inlink Media to manage the scheduling, distribution
and broadcasting of multimedia to their national
network of elevator based display screens.
The
digital display screens are installed in elevators
of high-rise office buildings in Sydney and Melbourne,
with the network soon to be extended to other
Australian capital cities. The initial deployment
of TELentice was completed early in November and
is currently running approximately 25 screens
in 3 office towers, with immediate plans to extend
the system to a further 50 screens.
The
unique nature of the elevator environment required
Fujitsu Australia Software Technology engineers
to deliver an atypical solution which:
- Broadcasts
media on two uniquely scheduled windows, one
for news and weather and the other for advertising
and messages;
- Broadcasts
on screens installed in portrait format; and
- Provide
news/weather updates throughout the day via
a wireless network.
These
requirements and the constant motion of elevators
created a challenging environment for the deployment
of the TELentice system. The installation was
completed rapidly and almost entirely problem
free, highlighting the robustness and functionality
of TELentice Enterprise.
Inlink
is a media company that installs and manages digital
information and entertainment screens in elevators
of commercial office buildings. Inlink currently
has a network of almost 100 screens in 10 buildings
and is deploying another 250 screens nationally
over the coming 18 months.
Inlink's
screens deliver live national and international
content including real-time news, sport, entertainment,
weather, financial market updates and full-flowing
digital advertising, providing building tenants
with relevant information while making the elevator
journey more enjoyable.

different material to play at different times
of the day allowing messages to be tailored to
the type of customers in the branch. The messages
