TELenticeTELentice

One of the greatest challenges facing vendors today is delivering their message to the right customer at the right time, at the time of purchase. Imagine if you could broadcast a dynamic, decision influencing message to the right people at the right time? Imagine the impact on your sales figures.

Now with TELentice™ it is possible.

100% Australian designed and developed, TELentice is an end-to-end distributed multimedia broadcasting system designed to cater for network wide booking, scheduling, distribution, display and auditing of multimedia content and advertisement. Your message can be delivered directly to your customers via plasma screens, computer monitors, televisions or virtually any other video display device available. In addition, TELentice will allow you to broadcast your message through your own or any other web site. The sophisticated rules engine allows your message to be broadcast on specific screens at specific times, ensuring it is viewed by the right people at the time of purchase, a concept we call, ‘precision marketing’.

The Power of Precision marketing

For a marketing campaign to be effective, it must deliver the right message to the right people. There is little point in advertising gardening tools in a Wedding Magazine, or builders tools in a travel magazine. For the message to be effective, it must be targeted.

This same principle is true with on-site marketing. Why use a screen located outside a women's boutique, a jewellery and a chemist to advertise a special on footballs? It makes more sense to display the football add near the sports store, and advertise diamond rings near the jeweller. And with TELentice you can.

With TELentice™, delivery of electronic, multi-media advertising material can be managed from one location, distributed to many and targeted to appeal to very specific markets at very specific times. The system is designed to target specific demographics over a network of retail organisations so that the right messages are delivered to the right audience at the time of purchase. This is what we call "Precision marketing at the point of decision".

How does TELentice work?

TELentice's unique technology, revolutionises on-site communications by treating every display device, in every location as a unique channel. In addition, messages can be scheduled to display at specific times of the day, on specific screens at specific locations. This flexibility, not available in any other ad server application, enables organisations to precisely target messages for maximum return on advertising spend.

The award winning technology used by TELentice allows the entire scheduling and display process to be centrally managed and operated. Multimedia material can be stored and managed centrally before being distributed to the individual broadcast locations, along with daily, weekly, monthly or even quarterly play schedules. The distribution of this material can be to as few as one screen, at one location, too literally thousands of individual screens at hundreds of locations. The material to be distributed can include MPEG-1, MPEG-2, HTML, Web Sites, Microsoft Powerpoint, Flash, Shockwave and even streaming video files. As the material can be displayed on plasma screens, computer monitors, televisions or any other VGA supported device, the impact of your message is only limited by your imagination.

TELentice Workflow

Where can TELentice be deployed?

Large Retail Organisations

RetailOrganisations with multiple outlets can benefit from TELentice by being able to be very specific about which ads to run at which outlets at which time. By using the power of TELentice, retail organisations can offer advertising customers more choice in the locations they advertise their goods and at what time of the day.

Large Retail Outlets

Organisations that manage shopping malls and centres can use TELentice to run very different advertising schedules on individual plasma screens. For instance, a plasma screen located in a Food Court could have a very different selection of advertisements running than a plasma screen located in a large Department store attached to the same shopping mall. Given this type of scenario, the shopping mall manager can generate higher advertising revenues because they can run significantly different advertisements on different plasma screens and the advertisers benefit from having targeted advertising at the point of purchase.

Clubs, Hotels & Bars

ClubsMany Licensed Clubs and Hotels already have existing networks of screens that are used to display gaming results, club news, sports and video clips. These screens can generate considerable revenue by interspersing gaming and sports results with location specific advertising and messages managed by the TELentice system.

Banks & other branch networks

If your customers spend any length of time in queues, you have the opportunity to cross sell and up-sell to them. With TELentice, your organisation can display customer specific messages, or brief infotainment pieces designed to entertain and inform.

Sports Venues and Transport Hubs

When all signage space is booked for the season, how can venues attract more advertisers? By deploying advertisements on monitors scattered around the stadium, and managed by TELentice

...all organisations with a need to deliver targeted multimedia messages via multiple display devices.

TELentice Modules

Contact Management

This module stores information on prospects, customers, their brands and products. In addition TELentice provides reports at various levels of detail, to enable you to identify where and when advertising time is still available.

Pricing

TELentice provides a flexible pricing model that can be used as is, or as the basis for a customised model. Pricing may be specified per-play, per-second of play or per size of the file to be distributed and played. Different discounts or loading may be applied to particular locations, particular times of day, or to particular devices within the location. Discounts may also be varied for particular customers or particular bookings.

Content Management

When registering advertising material, information about the material is recorded (e.g. play duration, owner, copyright information) then the file(s) themselves are uploaded to the central server. When an authorised TELentice user registers materials, a digital signature is generated. This will be shipped with the material files to enable other components to check the authenticity of the files right up to display time. This makes TELentice advertising material highly resistant to tampering.

Booking

Boking systemThe booking system is at the heart of TELentice. What distinguished TELentice from other advertising systems is that advertising can be directed toward specific locations and specific displays within those locations at specific dates and within specific time periods (these time periods are know in TELentice as time slots). This enables the advertiser to precisely target the advertising for maximum return on advertising investment.

The booking module of TELentice supports numerous other powerful features such as the ability to:

book to predefined location groups
book to displays that have a particular proximity within the location (e.g. are in proximity to the checkout, or the freezer section of a supermarket etc.)
cancel existing bookings
show the success of a booking in terms of % success at each location (if some time slots are already full then the success % will be < 100%)
book filler advertising. A "filler" is an advertisement that will be played when any particular time slot cannot be filled with regular advertising reservations. Unlike Reservations, there is no guarantee that the filler will be played. At scheduling time, "fillers" are chosen randomly among those that are an appropriate fit for the time available.

Schedule Generation

The Scheduling Manager and Scheduling Server software generate schedules for each display. Creating schedules is very computationally demanding process so they are usually created on a just-in-time basis. They may be generated on an ad-hoc basis or scheduled to take place on a regular basis.

Distribution

Schedules and advertising material is transmitted from the central site to all locations within the network via this module. TELentice caters for satellite or FTP transmission and can bundle the material in many ways to suite the specifics of the network.

TELentice produces compressed files for each destination location and minimises transmission time and cost by implementing a mechanism to send only those files that are not already stored on the destination systems.
At the destination the TELentice Location Manager software will unpack the distribution files ready for operation.

Display

The TELentice Player Server and TELentice Player are responsible for playing the advertising materials. The player will play each advertisement at the precise time as specified in the schedules and will download any materials that are required from the media server (usually the machine on which the player server runs). The player will check the digital signature of each file to ensure that the materials have not been compromised.

Billing and Audit

The billing information (such as where and when advertisements were played) is available through the audit logs or the TELentice RDB. TELentice can produce billing reports, or the billing information can be exported for use by another billing applications.
